A few minutes of care keeps gear working for years. Here is what each part of the range is made of and how to look after it.

What it is made of

SunglassesFrames and lensesLightweight frames with a grip coating, and polarised lenses with UV400 protection. Lens coatings scratch more easily than the frame, so the lenses are what to protect.
LightsTorches, headlamps, lanterns, fan lightMostly rechargeable over USB; the solar lanterns and bug zapper also top up from their own panels. Built-in batteries last longest if they are not left flat or cooked in a hot car.
PacksSling bag and travel packWeather-resistant fabric with zips and padded straps. The travel pack has a vacuum valve and a small rechargeable pump.
TeapotsHand-painted earthenwareSlip-cast earthenware, hand-painted and glazed inside and out. Some shapes carry a metallic finish, which is the most delicate part.

Sunglasses

Rinse grit off with water before wiping, dry with a microfibre cloth, and keep them in a case. Never leave them on a dashboard in full sun.

Lights

Charge fully before the first trip. For long storage, leave the battery part-charged and top it up every few months.

Packs

Empty the pockets, brush off dirt, spot-clean with mild soap and a damp cloth, then air-dry open. No washing machine.

Teapots

Warm before brewing, rinse while warm and hand wash with a soft cloth. No dishwasher, no microwave.
