Toaster Teapot in cream: a ceramic two-slot toaster with two slices of toast forming the lid and a brass lever and dial

Toaster Teapot — Cream

$62.00

A two-slot toaster with a dark plinth, a brass lever on the side and a browning dial below it. The two slices of toast are joined underneath and lift off together as the lid, which is the only sensible way to do it — two separate slices would be lost within a month.

This is the largest pot in the range at roughly 35 fl oz, which is four decent mugs. The cream glaze is slightly mottled rather than flat, so it sits comfortably next to both painted and wooden kitchens.

The toast is painted in three passes: a pale base, a mid brown, then the darker crust edge. It is the slowest part of the piece to finish and the reason no two slices match exactly.

Specification

  • Capacity: approximately 35 fl oz
  • Dimensions: approximately 8 ½ × 4 × 7 in (22 × 10 × 18 cm)
  • Weight: approximately 32 oz
  • Earthenware, food-safe glaze inside and out
  • Lift-off lid formed by two joined slices of toast
  • Hand-painted brass lever and dial

Hand wash only, in warm water with a soft cloth. No dishwasher and no long soak — the glaze is food-safe but the hand-painted detail does not enjoy detergent, and a ceramic this shape traps water in the spout. Full guidance is on Care & Materials.
